You will love the vibe on The Deck - a new family-friendly area under your favourite tree, right next to the playground. Bar Hei, Beach Buns Burgers and Woody's Pizza will be open from Labour weekend - Easter, Thursday - Saturday 5-8pm. Over the Christmas- Waitangi weekend period the eateries will be open extended hours for lunch and dinner 7 days a week. Dining is outside so opening times will vary, weather permitting. Year-round, we have a small shop at reception with a range of basic items - Allpress barista coffee, milk, cereal, pies, icecreams, drinks, pasta, sauce, canned goods, snacks, and bags of ice. You can also walk to Hahei Village for a range of cafés - dine in or they also have takeaway options. Opening hours always vary by season so we recommend that you do book.
Happy hours and happy days! Bar Hei, our onsite garden bar will be opening Labour weekend-Easter 5-8pm (weather dependent) and 7 days a week from Christmas - Waitangi weekend. The opening times will vary so check with the team when you arrive. There is also a craft brewery and liquor store in Hahei Village, just a 10 minute walk.
It is a leisurely 8-10 minute walk to Hahei Village shops, galleries, and cafés.
Usually, the world-famous Cathedral Cove is about a 2-hour return walk from the resort. Sadly Cyclone Gabrielle has damaged the track and you can now only reach Cathedral Cove via the water on a water taxi, Hahei Explorer, Cathedral Cove Kayak or other tours. Visit the https://www.doc.govt.nz/parks-and-recreation/places-to-go/coromandel/places/hahei-area/tracks/cathedral-cove-walk/ to check out the latest information for the Cathedral Cove track re-opening and all the other fabulous coastal walks you can do in the area.
Generally, the surf here is small-medium waves so this is a safe place to swim. In summer, please swim between the flags in front of the Lifesaving Patrol towers when the lifeguards are present. There is a small stream at the southern end of Hahei Beach which is great for the little ones to paddle. Hot Water Beach has a year round Surf Lifesaving Patrol, always swim between the flags.
You may park outside your accommodation on your camping site within the site boundaries. If you have extra trailers or boats we have some extra space available for a daily fee, on a first-come-first-served basis. Please ask when booking or call us to discuss.
Sorry we do NOT have a designated EV charger onsite. The closest charger is in Whitianaga about 40 minutes drive from the Resort.
Sorry, strictly no pets are allowed in any accommodation. For campers, dogs are not allowed at the resort from Labour Weekend until Easter - you may request a pet pass with prior approval needed before you arrive.
Sorry, we know it's all part of the charm of camping, but there is a fire ban in place for most of the year.
The closest concrete boat ramp is at Cooks Beach, a 15-minute drive from here, permits and fees apply, check this link for details https://www.tcdc.govt.nz/boatramps. There is a boat lane for landing on Hahei Beach but launching your boat off the beach is suitable by tractor ONLY.
